Tarp chapel

 The Scene
A light and airy venue to have your Oklahoma wedding. Located in the city limits of broken arrow located in the south end of central broken arrow.. A cement path leads you to the Y. Which to your right is the "glass chapel" and if you go strait you will head to the reception room and offices. The Tarp chapel is, a mix of modern and contemporary architecture. The infamous walls of glass surround the chapel walls and deep foliage of trees surround the exterior of the glass. Smartly attired staffs for events are professional but could be a little friendlier. The venue is stricter then needed about times and working with vendors.

The Food
When choosing your venue some brides often ask about catering. At tarp chapel you will get your catering done on-site. This site allows you to bring in your own dessert or wedding cake. Some brides find this is a downfall when they are in love with a catering company such as Orr or Tim's AFAB catering from a previous event. The wedding I attended served Skewed Teriyaki Chicken, Queseillas, Side Salad, mini sandwiches and some vegetables. Although it was a hodgepodge and didn't mix well it was a light buffet. The chicken was good, the questdillias were creamy with some sort of cheese/cream cheese combo and salad was…well a salad. There was also tea, water and soft drinks served. No alcohol was served. Definitely nothing over exciting in the meal.

Know Before You

The tarp is synonymous for its strict policy on times. Be prepared to be hammered with what time you can, can't or WONT be allowed to come in and your vendors setup times are even more strict. As a DJ who was performing at the wedding we usually like to have and hour and a half to setup, change and prepare for the reception. We were allowed to setup at 6pm for a 7pm wedding, which would have put the start time for the reception around 7:30. This worked out well, as the equipment needed for the venue is minimal as it is a small room with a capacity of 125.

Also for the ceremony you can use the house sound system but must provide your own person to run the music, mics etc. It is recommended to ask your DJ to help you with this. If there is a extra fee for them to do this they most likely have the experience to know what to do and will help your family and friends enjoy the ceremony.

The Extras
At the Tarp chapel you will be offered business cards from vendors who have left them, samples of photo books etc. I do not believe the tarp refers people but does offer a few cards to hand out. They can sell you bubbles, or other knick-knacks but it is really priced up to what you can get online or at a store such as erles party supply or Mardels.

Good service overall – nice staff, The venue did not rush the reception, I would go back. – the seats that were complimentary are a little uncomfortable, and the tables were very large and round for the room giving little room to re arrange. It was crowded with the maximum allowed and if you can I would suggest renting your own tables and chairs which are smaller or using less tables and letting people mingle or sit. The venue isn't a new one and has the signs of age, some peeling paint and the one thing that was noticeable was the air conditioner during the ceremony was extremely loud.

Pros: Great place if you want your ceremony and reception in one location and don't want to have it at a church or don't have a church you belong to.
Cons: Rushed setup for vendors, small reception area, noisy ceremony (A/C)
