Out on the Town Bachelorette Party Tips

Printable Version

The Out on the Town Bachelorette Party is a fun way to gather the bachelorette and her friends together to celebrate her pending wedding. Here are some great tips on how to make sure your event is a great success:

The beauty of going out on the town for a bachelorette party is that you basically ARE a theme party.  The bride is the centerpiece, so it's important to make sure she stands out from the rest of the guests.

If you are going for a more classic look, the bride may prefer to wear a feather or a sporty bride might prefer a white baseball cap decorated with glitter and a veil. If not, have her wear a baseball cap with BRIDE painted on the front, leaving the rest blank for party guests' signatures & words of advice.

Bar hopping may not be your idea of an ideal party for the bride-to-be. Don't fret as there are plenty of other places that would make for a fun bachelorette experience. Get tickets for all the girls to attend a sporting event.  Go to a comedy club, visit a vineyard/brewery, paint pottery at a local studio, visit a fortune teller or palm reader. Why not rent a room at a nice hotel in the area to take advantage of their pool & sauna, not to mention room service! Ask the management of whichever venue you choose whether you can decorate for the occasion, as some have restricted policies on this.

It can sometimes be a challenge to play bachelorette party games if you aren't at home, but some of the best known games include innocent bystanders! One of our favorites is "That Guy Game." This card game puts your people-watching skills to use. Scope out someone with a fake tan or a guy who is obviously looking for a booty call. This game is fun for everyone at the party.

The bride has to get some individual attention though too so put her in the spotlight by providing tasks to complete throughout the evening. For this scavenger hunt, have her wear a Naughty Bachelorette Dare Tee and spend the night checking off the tasks she has completed along the way. You can let the guests get in on their own version of the game with some Girls Night Out Party Scratchers; just like lottery scratch tickets but instead of winning money, you may have to complete a fun task.

Perhaps you want to try something a little bit different. We would suggest "Autographs":  all you need is a copy of Playgirl's Special Edition publication and a venue filled with attractive men. Isn't that guy in the tight jeans by the bar from page 13? What about the man playing pool? I swear he's the centerfold this month. Don't be shy – ask for their autographs. Whether it's them or not, they'll surely be flattered.

A game that might be more familiar is "Suck for a Buck." Again, be sure to choose how daring the game is based on the bride's comfort level.  A more innocent bride might wear candy necklaces around her wrist and neck.  A wilder bachelorette might put the candy necklaces around her thigh (as a garter) and/or waist! Each guy that wants to take a bite of the candy necklace pays a dollar – or more for the riskier areas.  An alternative version is the lifesaver t-shirt. Attach roll candy to a t-shirt either by sewing individually wrapped life saver packaging to the shirt or sticking wet lifesavers directly to the cotton fabric of the shirt. Careful where you place the candy! (You'll be surprised how much cash the bachelorette can go home with…)

There are a variety of options when it comes to gifts for the bachelorette at an On the Town party.  For example, you can treat the bachelorette to extra treatments or a bathrobe and slippers to make a spa experience even more luxurious

The cost of the bachelorette party, bridal shower, bridal shower gifts, wedding gift, etc. can start to take a toll on many of us. This might be a nice time to come together with other guests to purchase one gift as a group. We particularly like the Make Her Blush Package. It has a little of everything to make sure her bachelorette needs are met; it's more bang for you buck!

The idea behind most bachelorette gifts is something fun. Generally it's best to see that it has a playful, sexual nature. As Bachelorette parties become more mainstream and wild, the gifts do as well. After all, this is your chance to make the bride blush. Where do you think the term "blushing bride" came from?

As a last hint, the presentation of gifts at an on-the-town party is sometimes challenging. Something might get left behind at a bar or restaurant, and no one wants to be carrying the presents around all night. So, if you are presenting the bachelorette with packaged gifts, consider meeting at someone's house (or in a hotel room for a traveling party) prior to going out. This would also be an ideal time to provide the bachelorette with the items you have selected for her to wear out for the occasion too (e.g. Bachelorette dare tee, Pecker Veil, sash made from Nauthy Bachelorette Caution Tape. Etc.)!

Last but not least, have a great time and don't forget to take photos. We would love to see them!  And if you have new and inventive ideas for bachelorette at-home or on-the-town party themes, games or gifts, please let us know.  We'd love to share your experiences or ideas with future bachelorettes and their friends.
