Bridal shows are a great tool that you can use as a busy bride to plan your wedding. Exciting, festive, rewarding with great planning ideas. You get to talk directly with the professionals and see samples of work they have done at past weddings.
Bridal shows can also be crowded, overwhelming and confusing. However, if you put a little time into planning ahead, you will get more out of and even enjoy your bridal show experience. We visited "The Tulsa Wedding Show- hum along now…"Plan your Day in a Day" show this weekend at the Renaissance Hotel in Tulsa on Sunday.
The show is very well organized with a variety of vendors, great space to walk and mingle and a good selection of vendors. There were prize giveaways, free samples and a grand prize wedding package. We have put together some tips that some brides talked to us about while at the show.
Leanne Sonja is getting married in October and gave us a tip to "prioritize based on how far you think a certain company needs to be booked", she said that she had found the better facilities in town are booked for the following fall months of September-January well in advance.
We also talked to some wedding professionals who stated that they can only do one or two weddings a day and will be booked more quickly than others. Jessie Reich with Jesse Reich with www.jessereich.com said that "he is the company" and that he books up quickly after brides look at his work and see his unique style that some say is much different than other Photographers. He also introduced a unique new approach to the "candid wedding" or "table top" camera technique.
TULSA PHOTO BOOTH
We walked out into the hall and saw what he was talking about. A line of giggling, mothers were just walking out of a classy, sleek photo booth! He explained to us that this is something he had been thinking about for some time and he just decided that there was a market for it. How it works is that a guest or two or three will walk into the photo booth, push a button the screen tells them to "say cheese" and it takes four poses and prints them out in 30 seconds, the bride and groom keep one in a custom photo album that the booth attendant puts together along with a "special message from the guest" and the picture makers also keep a copy with the bride and grooms name, wedding date and anything else the couple has selected to have embossed into the photo. It's a very classy touch to a old tradition and very hip! Visit it at www.tulsaphotobooth.com
TULSA WEDDING DJ -
A new addition to the 2007 Tulsa Wedding Show is a great company- Tulsa Wedding DJ's - www.TulsaWeddingDJ.Com is Tulsa's Most Respected Wedding Entertainment company, they focus on weddings and making each wedding special and unique. Many wedding planners and venues recommend Tulsa Wedding DJ to brides because of their "unique style" and the staff that is dedicated to making each wedding "special, relaxing and fun."
We spoke with the staff at Tulsa Wedding DJ and Randy Lundy who is a DJ said that he really likes working for Tulsa Wedding DJ over other companies, he said "the owners really focus on quality, not quantity and that is what really makes each wedding fun, unique and different, other companies in Tulsa send out a guy who has never talked with the bride, plays the wrong song or really has no duty to the bride" he also stated that everytime he does a wedding, he sits down with each bride and groom and talks with her about what they want or don't want. Making it perfect each time is the goal of www.TulsaWeddingDJ.Com - 918-284-4933
Another tip is to bring major decision makers with you, even if you don't book a vendor at the show its good to have a few more eyes and ears open to remember what was said and seen. If your the major decision maker, bring a trusted friend with you, for a different perspective. Plus, you need someone to help you carry all the goodies with you! Magazines, brochures and that fun picture you both took in the photo booth!
The Tulsa Wedding Show is a great place to plan your wedding and really is one of the few shows that puts on a quality performance of style, sophistication and elegance. Vicki Taylor has been doing weddings for many years and really knows what brides want to see. If you are a bride and have a wedding coming up in 2007 the next show will be in January 2007. If you don't attend another show this year be sure to attend the Tulsa Wedding Show and plan your day in a day!
